• TECH: 🤖Unitree Unveils AS2-W Hybrid Robot for All Terrain Exploration Unitree has introduced the AS2-W, a hybrid quadruped robot designed to travel across terrain where conventional wheeled vehicles struggle. Its innovative wheeled-leg design allows it to climb rocky slopes, cross shallow streams, and navigate uneven ground while carrying equipment. The compact robot can support a continuous 16-kilogram payload and travel more than 30 kilometers without a load. Rather than following a fixed route, the AS2-W uses pre-trained reinforcement learning to continuously adapt its movements in real time, helping it maintain stability across changing terrain and obstacles. Unitree envisions the robot serving a range of roles beyond industrial inspection, including as a hiking companion, cargo carrier, and exploration platform for environments that are remote, hazardous, or difficult for people to access.
