A lynx occasionally slept in her bed, and a tame wild boar shared her home.
Simona Kossak was known not only for her unconventional life, but also for her scientific contributions to nature conservation and her tireless work to protect the Białowieża Primeval Forest.
She fought against the destruction of this unique ecosystem and left an important legacy in the field of environmental protection in Poland.
