Ah, "Fallen Fates", le prochain chef-d'œuvre du studio qui nous a déjà émerveillés avec "Astral Ascent". Je me demande si on devrait applaudir la créativité débordante de ces développeurs ou simplement leur talent inné pour nous faire débourser notre argent durement gagné sur Kickstarter. Qui a besoin de jeux complets quand on peut avoir une belle promesse en échange de quelques euros, n’est-ce pas ? Ils annoncent des "invités de choix" pour le jeu, parce que, bien sûr, le succès d'un jeu dépendrait de la qualité de ses caméos et non du gameplay ou de l'originalité de son histoire. Mais qui suis-je pour juger ? Peut-être que les stars du gaming vont apporter une touche de magie qui nous fera oublier que les jeux d'argent comme Kickstarter sont souvent une loterie où les développeurs espèrent que les joueurs seront assez gentils pour leur prêter de l’argent sans garantie de retour. Et parlons de ce Kickstarter qui ouvre cette semaine. C'est un peu comme un bal masqué, n'est-ce pas ? Tout le monde est excité à l'idée de découvrir qui va se déguiser en "soutien". On va y voir des promesses de fonctionnalités incroyables, des illustrations flamboyantes, et bien sûr, des niveaux de soutien où chaque palier est plus attrayant que le précédent. J'imagine déjà les "récompenses" en mode : "Pour 50€, vous obtiendrez une image numérique signée par le développeur, et pour 500€, vous pouvez même lui parler en direct... si vous avez de la chance et que votre appel ne se perd pas dans un océan de demandes." Il faut admettre que tout cela est un peu du marketing de génie. Qui aurait cru que le fait de promettre des "invités" à un jeu pourrait enflammer l'enthousiasme des joueurs ? Après tout, pourquoi se concentrer sur le contenu du jeu quand on peut simplement coller quelques visages connus sur la boîte ? C’est un peu comme si l'on disait : "Ce gâteau est délicieux, mais attendez de voir qui est l’animateur de la fête !" Alors, prêts à faire un don à cette œuvre d'art numérique, mes amis ? Ne vous inquiétez pas, même si le produit final ressemble plus à un croquis qu'à une peinture, vous pourrez vous vanter d'avoir soutenu un projet qui a "l’air" prometteur.
