Prema presudi, muškarac je u razdoblju od sedam godina, točnije od 2015. do lipnja 2022., iskorištavao svog maloljetnog sina za obavljanje raznih poslova na obiteljskom poljoprivrednom gospodarstvu. Nakon razvoda braka dječak mu je sudskom odlukom bio povjeren na skrb, što je, kako stoji u presudi, otac iskoristio kako bi ga zaposlio na poslovima neprimjerenima njegovoj dobi. Maloljetni dječak tako je vozio traktor po cestama i poljskim putevima, upravljao automobilom, a u jednom je trenutku čak vozio i šleper. Sve je otkriveno u lipnju 2022. godine, kada je policija u okolici Bjelovara u prometu zaustavila Mercedes za čijim je volanom sjedio 13-godišnjak.
