A whole little flock of tiny chicks, each one made from simple ingredients but turned into something special.
At first glance, they look like decorations… but every single one is creamy, savory, and completely irresistible.
Ingredients
- Eggs
- Mayonnaise
- Mustard
- Black peppercorns
- Carrot
- Fresh dill
- Cucumber
- Parsley
Steps to Make
1. Hard boil the eggs, then cool completely and peel carefully.
2. Slice a small portion off the bottom of each egg so they stand upright.
3. Cut the top third off each egg and set the tops aside to use as “hats.”
4. Gently remove the yolks and place them in a bowl.
5. Mash the yolks with mayonnaise and mustard until smooth and creamy.
6. Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg whites, letting it slightly mound to form the chick’s face.
7. Cut tiny triangles from the carrot to create beaks.
8. Add black peppercorns for eyes and place the carrot beak in the center.
9. Place the egg “tops” back on at an angle like little hats.
10. Arrange on a plate with cucumber slices and parsley, then tuck small sprigs of dill behind each chick for a playful finish.
